Asian female application for SFS?

<p>What are my chances for Georgetown if my GPA and class rank are on the lower end, but my SAT scores and ECs are really good?</p>

<p>Korean female, very competitive public MA hs</p>

<p>GPA~3.8 UW, not sure of weighted
Class rank~ 50/390
Course load: most challenging available
AP: Bio, US, Eng Language, Calc, Psych, Econ, Eng Lit, Latin Lit
SAT: 690 math 710 verbal as sophomore, I took the Nov 6 SAT so waiting for scores, hopefully 1500+</p>

<p>EC: VERY heavy focus on debate, which is my absolute love and passion, plus I have a record that'll be very unique and impressive-- there's A LOT under this category
A lot of politics, like DNC volunteer, volunteer for Kerry campaign, Dean campaign, US House and State senate campaigns, State senate intern, hopefully DC page
Asian Culture Club, president
Amnesty International, president
Viola, districts and soloist and allstate whatnot
Young Democrats, school branch and state branch
I help autistic kids learn Korean on occasional Saturdays
The Other Side (satire magazine) Editor in Chief
English language editor, New England Korean Journal</p>

<p>NHS, National Latin Honor Society, National Forensics League, National Merit Semifinalist at least I think, National Latin Exam gold and silver medals</p>

<p>Well, you have a good chance probably at most school you're applying to. You're ECs are very impressive. I'd say that the only school that may be a wild card is Yale, because you never know what they look for (they rejected hundreds of 1600 scoring applicants last year).</p>

<p>That's impressive. (Teaching autistic kids Korean.. ).. I can barely teach normal people how to speak Korean, and i's still very difficult.</p>

<p>Thanks, it's one of the hardest and most frustrating things I think I've ever done, and there's really very little tangible reward from it. However, it makes me appreciate life more in a way, and realize how incredibly lucky I am, no matter how cliched that sounds :)</p>

<p>I'm not sure how my numerical stats will work with Georgetown... I'm thinking about applying EA next year because I love it, but I don't know if I should apply EA to a super reach instead?</p>

<p>Actually, G-town is a reach for you. You are not even in the top 10% of your class...</p>
