The fact that UCI isn't number one completely nullifies any findings of that list.

UCI was always dubbed the University of Chinese Immigrants at my HS

Perhaps they take stuff other than just Asian students into consideration?

You know you're Chinese if... you either REALLY want to go to UCI or REALLY REALLY don't.

TRUFAX!

What about in bizecon? Mostly asian there too?

Congrats, you got me. I didn't even apply there.

Economics classes at UCLA have a pretty high Asian contingent... we're talking about 55%. I don't know about Business Economics classes, though. Brandnew2 can back me up on this.

You think that's a lot? Try UCI.

I heard from another student that the UCI School of Engineering and the UCI School of Information and Computer Science are both ~85% Asian. Can anyone confirm this?

University of California: Asian Freshman Enrollment for Fall 2006[ol]

holy mother....

I think it is the asian invasion.

dude....that means that at berkeley and ucla like 1 out of every 4 students are asian girls!!!! booyakasha!!!

Oh boy, fetishism. Yay.

cashmoney, not necessarily. It may be less, but it may even be more, and the classes you take or your field may deteremine how many surround you daily.

This is what my uncle told me about year ago when I was looking for colleges

"Fred, you better go to berkely or ucla. You will get as good an education as ivy schools in east coast. But you will be much happier in UCB/UCLA because you are not minority there" Then he'd go on and on .. talking about unhappy asians in Harvard, Princeton blah blah ..

SO according to him, having many asians in campus is never a bad thing :)

eh my mom always tells the same stories, about how her co-worker's kids aren't happy at east coast ivies.

for sure the asian culture here is very active. you know, if you ever wanted to do lion dance or taiko drumming or pomongul (sp?) drumming or traditional dance or banghra (sp?) dancing or get involved in either the indian, chinese, japanese, vietnamese, korean, etc. culture shows, or volunteer in k-town/j-town/chinatown then you'll have plenty of opportunities to do so. not to mention meet friends, eat asian food, etc.

i'd like to think the ivies don't have as comprehensive of asian culture clubs and activities as UCLA and some of the other UC's do.

^ Yup. I heard of many horror stories about over-stressed, socially-isolated asian boys/girls in top ivies, including suicido by hanging in the basement bathroom.

Instead of being a ivy-whore and living a 4 years of expensive, gruelling, humiliating years at eastcoast ivies, we Kali-asians have the best of the both worlds- financially feasible (cheap) and excellent education opportunities plus welcoming environment - not too mention those hot asian mamas

^amen. :)
