Asian parents will only pay tuition for IVIES?!!

My parents will only pay (completely) for ivies & Duke - something about the money not worth it for other private schools/expensive public schools. Otherwise, I'll have to use my own savings to pay for college too. I'm not complaining about it, but
I was wondering if the other schools I choose will give me any scholarship money?

ahaha, i’m asian american living in beijing

and omg, thats funny cuz it totally fits the whole asian stereotype, but i guess its true for some families, i mean my parents are asian too, but a lot more openminded aobut the whole thing. they’ll pay for whatever, but still as long as its a decent schl. and i mean, its not like we’re affluent or antyhing and as my parents are in the export business this yrs been pretty bad. plus i’ve got two younger siblings and we wnat to put my sis in intl schl 2 so i really want to take the load off thme. that’s why i’m applying to canada too cuz its sooOOOOoooo much cheaper.

but back to you… haha~

lol day-yam? you’ve got a really amazing profile, i think u shud put ur gpa too, but i thikn u’ve got a relaly good shot at all ur colleges.

i think theres a good chance of u getting some money on the basis that the non-ivy schls u apply to DO infact offer merit based aid, cuz i know some schls dont. you’ll have to check their websites and stuff for qualifications too. sometimes tehy’ll b elooking for welrounded students and sometimes for kids with certain backgrounds or talents. i nkow a lot of schls have really generous scholarships, like full tuition and stuff, but those deadlines are prob past…

do some research?

yeah…I know it wasn’t smart but I picked the non ivies because those are the schools my girlfriend applied to

can anyone else chance me for the schools? it would be greatly appreciated
