Asian Parents

@originalguy609 I remember that. It was called “Ivy Diaries” I think. The full thing was on youtube. Was interesting to see four different kids with diverse interests.

Someone got like a 760 on an SAT exam and their mom was disappointed

Asian parents are the worst… especially when they basically force you to focus solely on academics at the expense of extracurricular. Coming from an Asian culture in which nothing matters other than the college entrance exam, my dad would constantly urge me to quit my extracurriculars and study for the SAT or something. It just sucks…

Lol. I have the opposite problem. My parents want me to get a B because they want me to experience failure, or get used to it or something. Even though my mother never received a B in high school and my dad graduated a year early they really never put pressure on me to get straights A’s or die. My condolences to the OP. I have a friend who has a Korean mom that grew up in Korea where that pressure is like 10x worse. At least you may have a life outside of school or extra-curricular activities. There are so many Asians in Korea, Japan, and China doing nothing but study study study and they get like 4 hours of sleep every night.

My asian parents never do this. Last night when we were in the car, my dad was all like, “You’re going to take a practice SAT at [insert tutoring place here] on Saturday. How do you think you will do?” Then, I say, “Well I won’t do well on the Math part 'cause I suck at Math.” Then my dad is like, “YOU DON’T SUCK AT MATH!” And then I’m all like, “Yeah I do; I got a 670 on the SAT!” Then my mom comes out of nowhere and gives me this long lecture about how I’m ■■■■■■■■ or something, I wasn’t really paying attention.

Lol I’m so glad I don’t have Asian parents…my parents prefer to bug me about cleaning my room rather than test scores. They forgot i took the sat& act until i told them my scores *****. And they were totally ok with my B+ in math one quarter cause “math is a hard subject anyway”

I have Indian parents btw
