hello. was just wondering, but are there any asians in wharton with sub-2000 sat's? because, i heard that there are quite some present, and was just curious since i am one of those applying with 2050 on the sats, which is possibly the worst score ever...

and, does being an asian studying in an non-english speaking european country help? i'm studying in one of those countries right now...

and i'm not applying for fin aid, so i sincerely hope that there are plenty of fin aid applicants so that i stand a marginally higher chance...

Way to be an *******. I don’t think that’s true, and I think that statement is way too harsh. It’s possible, not really likely sure, but still possible. Depends how the rest of your application is. I feel like Penn isn’t crazy over test scores. It’s truly holistic.

To get in to many of these top colleges, you want to stand out. I’m sure there are many such applicants, with scores lower than “2100” or even “2000” that stand out in different ways, whether through working many jobs or good grades or other life experiences, that get in fine.
It’s not all about race.

Madshock is right, you need to stand out. That means that with a 2050 you’re not going to be able to get in by just “playing the game,” that is, high GPA/SAT, insane amount of ECs etc. Instead, you’ll have to get in on some other form of merit. It’s not impossible, just more difficult to conceive.

i’m almost convinced that i am going to be rejected. only thing that motivated me to apply was a chinese getting in with 1900 a year ago and the fact that wharton has always accepted a student from my school on a yearly basis, and for this year, i am the only one applying for wharton…

2050, that im positive that it will increase to 2100 with this january’s testing…

thanks for being realistic. I’m not trying to devalue you, I just want you to apply elsewhere, and put more thought into those applications because you’d have a better shot. I don’t want to give you false confidence…I mean Penn’s acceptance rate for Wharton in RD will be around 5-7%(I’m just speculating). For Asians, it’s gonna be far lower. So if you expect nothing your mind will be at peace with whatever the decision is.

I’m Asian and I got into Wharton with a 31 ACT which is like a 2100. It is possible, but like everyone above said, you have to be better and stand out in other ways.

Hermann, the above poster is really valuable information. If you can stand out similar to her, to that extent, then you should keep your hopes high.
I think her ‘hook’ is that she has a dance company(i think) and immense volunteering

keep in mind she did apply ED which does show interest and is a boost
