Hi collegeconfidential.com!

hate to break it to you, but most asians have SATs below 2300

from: “Table 8: Total Mean Scores by Ethnicity”
Source: Higher Education Professionals | College Board;

I have to say that the asian average for math is quite impressive

Your score is way too low for even Burger King. I’m sorry, but nobody in society wants an Asian with a score that low. You have no chance at ever being successful in life. Start practicing how to flip burgers right now, and Burger King might become a reach.

Naw, JK. Welcome!

I’m surprised it’s that low, to be honest. Among the Asians I know, a 580 would be considered a terrible score.

I find it kind of interesting how the Asians have the highest SD of any of the ethnicities.

So many are good (600-700s) while others (presumably worse conditions) are in the 300s, lower than others?

^ I think it’s because Asians and “Pacific Islanders” are grouped together. Among Chinese, Japanese, and Koreans, the math average is probably about 675.

Siglio, Asians score an average of 1600?!

WE ARE A DISGRACE!

“^ I think it’s because Asians and “Pacific Islanders” are grouped together. Among Chinese, Japanese, and Koreans, the math average is probably about 675.”

…and Indians. :P

I think Indians would for the large part be grouped in the Chinese, Japanese and Korean group.

I think it has something to do with the education method. when i was in the US my math wasn’t so good, but after i came back to china, i just learned the hard way, ugh.

i believe east asians far outnumber pacific islanders, even counting filipinos

Taking this data set, and putting Filipinos with Pacific Islanders, there are 2812665 Filipino or Pacific Islanders, and 10797668 Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Asian Indian, Vietnamese, and Other Asians. This is a multiple of 3.84.

I wouldn’t go as far as to say “far outnumber” for a less than 3:1 ratio.

Wow I’m surprised at those scores. Of course those are averages, meaning that people got way more and way below…

Hi!

Yes , I confess that Asian might be the most talented students … I live in Lebanon , after an experiance in Australia . I tasted the difference …
