Asians and Tennis

Most people aren’t exposed to rowing. I mean, you need a team of people, water and a boat to do it. Meanwhile just pick up a racquet some balls and a partner and go. Tennis is at least a more prominent sport than rowing is.

I hate tennis, haha. Basketball for me.

silence_kit, you are proving that Asians are not into fit sports. You can weigh 150 or 400 pounds and still be good at baseball.

I agree with the non-contact aspect and the athletic ability aspect.

For many of my friends they started tennis early, work very hard, and are very committed. They are nationally ranked.

As for lack of innate ability, I think that many Asians are slightly disadvantaged due to height. While height is not the only important characteristic to have, it is generally advantageous in most sports (^crew/rowing is generally better for those with larger wingspan… though being the cox is easier for shorter and smaller people).

I am Asian. I figure skate. To my knowledge, a fair number of Asians do figure skating or gymnastics as in those sports it is advantageous to be short.

Japan and Korea are exceptional in international Baseball.

In my opinion, any sport is difficult if you play it at a highly competitive level.
