Asians - do you plan on eating rice when you grow up?

And do you plan on using chopsticks?

====

Yes:
No: 1

===

And as for me, I'm definitely not going to eat rice. There are alternative with lower glycemic indices. And I'll use forks (although chopsticks are sometimes useful for various actions, like picking up objects from a distance).

Dude, i would kick your ass if you weren't asian. Thats horribly insensitive and indians don't use chopsticks anyway. But I would be really disappointed if you're acting on advice from the 1000 n00b forum.

Anyhow - I think most people should be able to note that this is geared towards East Asians (probably 1.5 or 2nd generation)

And the stereotype, in any case, is accurate to a large extent (even if not 100%).

Is it? I want to know cc's opinion.

I know a lot of Asian parents Chinese in my case and they all use rice and chopsticks.

Of course it's not a representative sample but I think that in this case, it speaks for the group fairly accurately.

Dude how do you use a chopstick.

this is the funniest and most offensive threat title ive seen

Ok my official answer to it is- No I won't, I refuse to die of colon cancer and therefore will only consume whole wheat products.

Of course I'll continue to eat rice. Pasta doesn't appeal to me.

If you're Asian, rice is your life. Especially friedrice ;)

I will continue to use rice and chopsticks when I grow up, no doubt. I hate American food.

It's a good question.

I grew up with rice and I couldn't stand it. I wished my mother could cook normal American dishes or something from the cookbook. And if it's not that, its China buffet EVERY weekend. No Red Lobster, no Olive Garden, etc. It's been 3 years out of the house now and I enjoy eating out at various places. Occasionally, I eat Chinese and plain steamed rice with chopsticks. Rice is good every now and then, but not all the time! :D

hahahahahahahhahaha this thread is funny. sorry guys

:eek:/*******************/

It's easy to learn to use chopsticks. I found a website and practiced with pencils because I didn't have any real ones.

Rice is way better the American way with butter and salt.

But I'm not Asian, so I'm not supposed to post here.

I'll eat rice. without chopsticks though. I have no idea how to use those things.
but I'm not Asian either...

I'm not Asian, but if I was, I wouldn't find this thread offensive. It's like someone asking a white person: "When you grow up, will you eat hamburgers?"

Occasionally but not religiously like my parents do.

TITCR.

(10char)

Although it probably wont be sticky rice, but rather fried - Chinese or Thai style.
