Asians in Frats

<p>You guys know of any fraternities that are accepting to the more cooler Asians. i.e. not the nerdy ones or the ones with very long hair. a.k.a. whitewashed.</p>

<p>the reason there aren't many Asians in fraternities isn't because of racism... its more of a cycle, i think..</p>

<p>frats are almost all white --> only white people rush --> frat is still white</p>

<p>there ARE asians, blacks, etc in fraternities here... even pikes has an Asian pledge right now, i think... and its pikes...</p>

<p>There are plenty of asians in every frat; we have a couple in each pledge class. IMO, Frats tend to be race-blind as long as you are cool.</p>

<p>got it, thanks. it's just that i know of no asians who are in frats and have never seen an asian wearing a fraternity sweater.</p>

<p>sigh, well for starters if you heard the thing about DePauw's sorority you would have a general idea of some of the minor prejudice against minorities in sororities. put it this way, when i went to the greek area during quad day if you had seen some of the looks the frats gave me you'd somewhat understand.</p>

<p>that is true. they definitely don't hand out rush fliers to everyone, they kinda have to make a quick visual assessment at quad day of if you kinda fit the mold. the rush budget is only so big, so they can only really rush so many people.</p>

<p>well I'm from probably the most diverse area in the world so I never even have to bother noticing what race somebody is, and it's never a problem here, but it sounds like racism is a serious issue there?</p>
