Aside from Teacher and Professor Recommendations, do most of you get at least one external recommendation from credible people who know you well, work-related (like a boss/peer/division head/chair person), or alumni of other tier 1 schools?

Depend on what they have to offer. I was accepted this year, and had my track coach write recommendations for me because I thought it gave them a better idea of me as a person. Unless your boss knows you very well, or has something unique to tell about you, it's prob not worth the added effort for them to write a recommendation for you.

I only had a rec from my English and Calc prof, I think that the ONLY reason you should turn in a Rec is if it is going to be personal and you think gives them a new insight of you, if not, it is just more fluff.

I only got one recommendation- from my French teacher. It worked for me.
