I used the class planner and made schedule which will most likely be used for my Fall semester; however, I have two consecutive classes with no gap in between. One is from 1:00-2:00 and the other is from 2:00-3:00, but both are in CAS. Is there adequate time to get to my next class without being late?

Hi, I was just accepted as a transfer student to BU for the fall! I’ll be a sophomore at BU! I know people on here may not have experience with transfer students, but how do you think it would be to assimilate to BU as a transfer student? It is easy to meet people or would I just be lost since the school is so big? I love Boston, and am fairly familiar with the city, however, my current school is about 3,000 students, haha so I’m a little nervous about adjusting.

Emlett, it’s perfectly fine to have back-to-back classes because all BU classes end 10 minutes early to allow students to get to their next class.
You might want to schedule your classes more back-to-back so you don’t have all those breaks in between.

With this, my back-to-back classes are in different colleges, with one at CAS and the other at ENG. Is there enough time to go between colleges and make it to class?

That looks much better and gives you room to have a proper lunch and chill for a while in the middle of the day… hah

There’s always at least 10 minutes between classes and so far I’ve never had a problem with getting anywhere on time - even if my classes were in different buildings.

The CAS and ENG buildings are very close to one another, and there should be no problem getting between them in under 10 minutes. I would only be worried if I had to get from SHA (which is across from Agganis) to something like KCB (which is in Kenmore Square).

Also you should note that just because you have a class like “CAS WR100,” it does not necessarily mean that the class will be in the actual CAS building.

if i see a class i’m considering taking in the fall (and i’m an incoming freshmen) with 1 seat remaining, should i go ahead and register for it before orientation just so it doesn’t get filled and i’m blocked out?

qwertyg, you aren’t able to register before orientation unless you have special circumstances or are an international student who cannot attend until the last orientation. If there is only one seat left, you need to assume that you won’t get the class. Even if you go to the first orientation, someone else will probably grab it before you can. All current BU students can add/remove classes right now too. I would try to plan for classes with a lot more spots open.

I plan to double major in computer science and electrical engineering. I’m pretty sure I’ll be able to handle the workload considering I lack most aspects of a social life.

Emlett I would wait a little bit before you overload. Are you taking 18 credits or 20 credits? Also what classes are you taking? I think the College of Engineering puts a limit on the amount of classes you can take from the start and that no one is allowed to overload in the beginning.

I ask because I am an engineer myself in the college of engineering and I know how difficult the freshman transition/ engineering classes are… PM me if you have any questions.

Motion12345, you have a great schedule! mine in 1st semester at BU SUCKED!!!
anyway, Emlette: take the advise and DON’T EVEN THINK ABOUT OVERLOADING!!! my room mate is in Eng and her schedule was already FILLED without an overload. plus, i dont think they’ll let you.

Does anyone have information about the 6 year Physical therapy/ athletic training program? How rigorous is the program? or any other information about it?

I’m going to be attending BU in the fall and I have A LOT of questions that mainly revolve around student life. I have loads of questions about housing, meal plans, transportation, etc. I live in California so I would appreciate suggestions on how to deal with airfare, getting my stuff to BU before move-in day, the weather change, and such. Is anyone willing to talk to me one-on-one? I wouldn’t want to spam up the forum!

Hi BU students. I need to know how can I get to BU from Boston airport. Could I get some help please??? BU web page says I need to take the green line … but does not tell me what stop I need to get off!
Thanks.

@shawnsj:
If you have more than one piece of luggage, it would be best to take a taxi from the airport. Otherwise, take the MassPort shuttle bus from the terminal to the Airport T stop on the Blue Line. Take the Blue Line inbound to Government Center, then transfer (free) to the Green Line B train. It will say Boston College but it goes to BU too! If you are heading to East Campus, get off at Kenmore. Otherwise, the B train comes above ground after Kenmore and there are three stops on campus.
