^^^Thanks
Can we take online courses at UNC? If so, can someone post the link

Cuse, I think my computer has a warranty. However, it is a Dell that runs on Vista, so I’m expecting problems.

If my computer malfunctions, I’ll just pay to get it repaired.

Yes.

blair, be careful about that. I had a Dell too and I was actually happy with it so far this year. Then it decided that it did not want to read my hard-drive anymore, and now I am SOL. Luckily, I had most of my files backed up, but it is an inconvenience, especially since ITS will not touch your computer if it is not a CCI computer. So I’m actually considering getting a CCI for next year just because the on campus support is amazing.

Yeah, I think owning a CCI would be easier, but I probably won’t purchase one until (knock on wood) something happens to mine.

Has anyone actually taken a course with the Friday center? I’m thinking of doing so senior year.

ugh cosmic is gross. the cheese isn’t even melted on their nachos

lol I looked at the menu online and didn’t really like it, anyone have some more thoughts on restaurants

We have enjoyed Franklin Street Pizza & Pasta. Pasta is good and inexpensive. Also for breakfast ye Olde Waffle Shoppe, a long time favorite

Does anyone know how the water pressure is in the Cobb showers

Sorry to change the subject, but I have a bunch questions for any kind student who knows the answers:

I know that at CTOPS, most people who haven’t taken a test formerly take the foreign language placement exam. So are there any other tests/exams or whatever we will take then? Also, I understand CTOPS is overnight, but I cannot find when it ends. Does it end in the morning, afternoon, or evening of the second day?

Also - I am taking Spanish 4, but I haven’t taken any AP or subject tests in Spanish. I read that everyone has to take a foreign language through level three at UNC. I’m guessing that the classes do not coincide with high school classes, so, does anyone know if it would be difficult to completely place out of Spanish? Has anyone else taken Spanish 4 in high school? If so, what, if anything, did you take in college?

Answers are very much appreciated. Thanks!

I have the same questions as Maziana–at least about the tests. I’m taking Spanish as well, but I’m only in 3.

Hey,

Let’s see if I can help you out with this. I took up through French 5 in high school. Depending on where you place, you may or may not have to take a language.

If you place into 4th or possibly 5th level Spanish, you will have to take that 1 spanish class in order to fufill the requirement. If your scores are through the roof, you talk to the department head about placement.

I placed into 4th level French (Either the 255 Conversation class or 260 Lit. class) And I ended up getting 9 credits for that one class (got credit for FREN 203, 204, and 255) which was pretty awesome.

S lives in Cobb, he said the water pressure was fine.

thanksssss LEDad

would regular twin sheets fit the beds at UNC, specifically the beds in Cobb…or do I need to get twin xl

Thanks, UNCgal!

Do you take a test at CTOPS for this?

Also, do you know what kind of Math II score you should have? I’m taking it in May, and I want to know what kind of score I should achieve (whether it’s in the 600 range or 700 range).

Gator2008, the mattress at Cobb use twin XL sheets.

I will have completed 4 Spanish courses (Through Intermediate Spanish II) at my local community college. This means I don’t have to take any more, right?

All mattresses are twin XL.

And dude, the best thing I brought to college was my GIGANTIC egg crate mattress cover. The simple pleasures in life are largely lost at college… like having a real kitchen, or a real couch to sit on. Do yourself a favor and bring the biggest baddest mattress cover you can find.
