Question: What are your favorite things about Vassar?

Answer: Well, for starters, I really like the feel of the student body. The abundance of friendly, "happy" people on campus is quite enjoyable, and definitely something I wasn't expecting before my arrival on-campus. I also greatly like the fact that, in all of my classes, my professors know who I am (and in the two that aren't 25+ students, that my professors have made an effort to get to know me personally). Other positives include the diverse options of events to attend on campus (club-sponsered, dorm-sponsered, lectures, exhibits, student parties, etc.), the beauty of the campus, the offerings in the history department (although, like any other small school, a comparitively small amount of courses are offered every year), the week long October break, the support system set up for freshmen with student fellows, the library, the open curriculum, the diverse offering of majors, and the spaciousness of my dorm room.

Question: And is the 63-37 women to men ratio noticeable on campus?

Answer: If you have a large amount of the student body in one place--ie, most of freshman orientation--then the ratio is definitely noticiable. It can also be more or less obvious depending on what classes you take, what activities you get involved in, and so on. However, day-to-day wise, I don't think it's particularly noticiable that the campus is 63% female.
