Drexel/Villanova responds by jan 22 (according to their website)

Is there are particular thing that drexel emphasizes when looking for that perfect “fit” in a student? Like, how some programs prefer students that are 100%committed to medicine, while others are looking for a student that will probably major outside of the sciences or someone who will study internal medicine?

My son received an email from Drexel requesting he pay a $150.00 application fee. Any one else get that?

yes, i just paid mine today!

Do you know when we will be notified if selected for interview?

When i called, i was told in 2 weeks or sowe should be notified and the interviews would be in the first weeks of feb

Thanks, butterfli123!

Does anyone know how many spots Drexel offers for the 7 year medical program?

It varies. Drexel undergrad usually has around 25-35 spots. Lehigh and Nova varies. In the past, Lehigh had around 10 students per year, but now its around 0-3 students per year. Villanova has around 10 students or so per year.

In terms of accepted, I think they said ~68 or so students are accepted out of 2,000+.

@butterfli123 Did they also ask you to upload a photo? I got the fee payment and so did my friend except she wasn’t asked to upload her photo… Also does anyone know how the interview is conducted? Multiple single interviews, group interviews, a combo? And is it a two step interview process?

no, i didn’t get asked for a photo. O.o

@msxkjp When were you asked to upload a photo?

@omzac It was on the same page as the payment for the application fee. It was like two boxes one linking to the online payment form and another linking to an upload of a picture with a 200 kb cap.

Maybe because you didn’t submit a picture with your secondary application? Because on all of mine, i had to paste a pic of myself on the application itself

@msxkjp Thanks! My son didn’t get that with his payment request. Did you apply to Villanova/Drexel?

i never posted a pic of myself nor did they require it anywhere… weird

@omzac No I applied Drexel-Drexel.

I have a question about the Drexel College of Medicine Interview:

On the site it says the interview will start at 8:30 and end around 2:30. What do you do for that long? And how intensive are the interviews when compared to regular undergrad interviews and the ones we had at some undergrad schools for BS/MD (such as TCNJ)?

You eat food (breakfast and lunch), you learn about the program, you go through an interview and you tour the school. There are some other events that they have, but they’re “secret” until you arrive.

Interviews vary depending on your interviewer. Think of them as any regular med school interview. They want to get a sense of who you are as a person and whether or not you fit the school. Stating your accomplishments are fine, but you really want to convey your personality through the interview. Do some interviewers drill you? Sure! Are other interviewers lax? Possibily. Do they check to see if you are being honest? Mine did. He fact checked every assertion I made by searching me up online. Oh, with that being said, don’t lie. If you do and they catch you, that’s pretty much an auto-reject. Be totally honest of your accomplishments and your experiences.

hey i was accepted to pennoni honors college today but no info about the bs/md was posted on the portal…what does this mean? i got my app forwarded to med a week ago though
