That’s nice to know. I’d be sad to go away from my sweet tea. =( (Which is actually a HUGE reason why I’m considering schools in state. XD)

Is the campus super huge? I really want to visit it. My dad has driven by and shown me where the law school building and the bookstores are… but other than that I’ve never really ‘seen’ the campus. Is it a campus feel? Or is it really like a school in the city without a campus?

And… Do many students study abroad?

Thanks for the info. Y’all are much more informative than my father who graduated from the law school in '83. XD

It is a pretty big campus but not overly huge, when your on campus though it feels like your on it. It definitely feels like there is a campus

and yes im not sure of the exact number, im sure others do. But I know there are a lot of people who study abroad and there are a lot of opportunities to do so

Theres a website the career center at USC has that gives opportunities for people who go to USC with companies looking for USC students. It allows you to search for part-time, full time, internships and all that for whatever state you want. There are quite a lot of opportunities whether they be on campus or local companies. I did realize though that being an out of stater doesnt give me really any internship opportunities through that web site but its fine.

I did a quick search for internships in south carolina and right now at a weird time where most business’ have already hired, there are 21 internship opportunities soo theres a good amount on there.

and dont be afraid to ask more questions if they come up

So, so many OOS students in sororities/fraternities. How can my OSS daughter meet people if she’s not in a sorority? She’s a junior and feels like time is running out. Such a sweet, beautiful girl wanting to meet good, quality male/females at USC. She lives in copper beech now – any words of wisdom there?

Yes, eadad. My daughter just moved to Copper Beech on July 31st. She’s in the 300’s unit. She’s back home until the 13th, but is going to go back and give the social setting one more try. Your D is in a sorority, isn’t she?

How competitive is USC? I want to be challenged at whichever university I attend. I just wish I knew about USC before Honor’s apps were due :(. Can a student transfer into Honor’s? Thanks

the Honors College is competitive (entry into it) S has been challenged there.I know sophs can apply to transfer into Honors from the regular undergrad population, maybe 2nd semester freshman as well.
You should call Admissions after the Winter Break and see if its really too late to apply…it may be too late for scholarship deadlines but not too late for the app itself. Call them, they are really helpful and friendly.

If you do not test out of the foreign language requirement, must you complete the required coursework in your freshman year or could you complete it in a later year - sophomore, junior, senior?

You can complete it at any time. Your advisors will probably push you to get it done sooner rather than later since it is a graduation requirement, but there’s no requirement that you do it your freshman year.

Soooo I’m a sophomore now ha and still love it and I’ll check back in now more frequently to answer questions since im sure this si the time where people have questions.

Riggo- Yes you can, I actually rushed in the spring of my freshman year. Theres pros and cons to doing it. If you have any questions feel free to ask here
