Do you think that is ample time?
Also, how do you ask professors about LOR?
just walk into his office and say "can you please write me a letter of recommendation?" Are there more polite ways to go about this?

I asked for all my LORs by Dec. 15th, even though my school deadlines range between Jan 1st and Feb 15th. Less confusing that way for them, less stressful for me.

Ask in person, over the phone, or by email, in that order of preference. Basically, the more person-to-person, the better. But it's understandable if you're states away from them or your work schedules don't mix well to end up emailing everything. When you ask, explain what you want to do and why, and THEN ask for their help, and leave them with some materials- resume/CV, a list of the schools, methods and deadlines, at minimum. That way they've got something to reference if they get a bit stuck on what to write.
