Ask a Peddie Student

I thought they r mailing it. I am assuming it's a simple e-mail because I never got any login id and password from them. please advice

WAIT WAIT WAIT. we get an email?

I haven't received an e-mail from Peddie, so I don't have a very good feeling hearing someone received an acceptance e-mail already. How does everyone else feel about not yet hearing?

Wait.... I didn't get an e-mail last year. I think (I'm not sure about this) that that might be for international students. I looked at some of the posts of agara and she goes to an international school I think. Maybe this counts as an international student and that is why she received an e-mail. Don't lose hope! And don't read too much into it. Good luck!

AGSAABS, you are such a good kid! I agree with you. Since no one else has posted about Peddie, I think HutHut and BNK should not be "feeling bad" at this point. I think this is an anomaly, not the norm.

If there was another email received by, let's say a current 8th grade resident of a Mid-Atlantic or New England state, then, maybe you could take out the Magic 8 Ball and look for an answer. At this point I have a good feeling that you are still in the running!

I looked on their website, and they made a point of saying the letters would be sent out on March 10th this year. It may have been different last year, but so far only agar has reported hearing form this school.

I'm currently studying in US right now.
BUT they might consider me as an international applicant since I don't have green card

The director of admission sent an email with all the enrollment information (to save paper and be more environmentally friendly), and there was a PS in the end saying that I will also receive an official letter of acceptance as a hard copy as well.

don't lose your hope guys!! I really think they consider me as an international applicant.
good luck

A PA resident here -- We haven't gotten any e-mail notice.

We're not far from Peddie in NJ applying as boarder.

Which school did you like better Peddie or Blair?

I really don't know
I applied to both of them and didn't get a chance to visit, so I can't decide yet
If it turns out that I am accepted at Blair then I will talk to some of the people I know from both Blair and Peddie and start making a comparison chart
Nothing is certain at this point. I might just toss a coin: head or tail.

which one do you like?

PS. I'm so sorry for this off-topic conversation. I should have posted it in the master list of acceptance. Sorry AGSAABS.

i live in the USA and i havent gotten an email yet. so im just really hoping they've emailed international applicants so far.

hey AGSAABS i know your not on break anymore but if you could answer a few questions? im going in next year as a freshman.

i know these questions seem like i should know the answer by now but still i would like first hand answers thanks! thanks for answering all my questions =)

Thanks for all the great information, AGSAABS! I have tons of questions, but will hopefully remember to ask later :)

There is another link to a different thread, too. Perhaps you can help?

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/prep-school-chances/685802-lawrenceville-vs-peddie-2.html

I’m going to bump this up…

So is it very hard for sophomores to get accepted to peddie?

I’m applying as a 9th grader for 10th grade. I was wondering if there is a lot of competition.

AGSAABS, are you still reading this thread?

Peddie - Chemistry Honors?

Does Peddie offer Chemistry Honors? I’m surprised it’s not listed among the courses in the Science Department. In fact, there is not even a regular Chemistry course.

If a student would like to take AP Chemistry in his junior year, what chemistry class should he take in his sophormore year in preparation for the AP?

I am not certain what you are looking far as far as Peddie’s science program; however, classes in chemistry are offered as the required science for 9th grade. My daughter has been informed that she is enrolled in the Chemistry Honors section for the 09-10 school year, so I am 100% certain that they offer chemistry!

My sister is a prominent scientist (I will leave her name out of this) and she compared several NJ/PA area BS science programs for me. She placed Peddie at #1. L’ville’s humanities courses are untouchable, but Peddie’s sciences are the best from my sister’s point of view.

Take a look at this link for the 08-09 course of study and a video about the science program. I found this very helpful. The new science building is exceptional.

[Peddie School ~ Courses & Programs](http://www.peddie.org/podium/default.aspx?t=16432)

Thanks. My mistake. I was just looking the courses listed under the Science Department … didn’t realize it was just a partical list. And you are right that Peddie offers an exceptionally rich science curriculum.

How many courses does Peddie offer? How many sophmores are admitted each year?
