a) was it not as good as you expected? not too much better as your old school?
sheesh, you make youself seem like a negative nancy. =D don't go in thinking you wont like it. i applied, and heard of exeter all in 3 months and wasn't sure of what i was getting into even after i arrived. over the last 5 months i have come to love it here, and wouldn't want to be anywhere else. all considering that i loved my old school, and would of been fine staying, thats saying something. i always heard about people going to boarding school because they didnt like their home life and loving it, but i think it means more when you like both.
b) did you have any regrets? did you miss your parents a lot?
i missed my family when i realized their lives moved on without me, but i still know i am a part of them. like, i wanted to be in band at home SOOO much, but obviously went to boarding school, making that not happen. my mom always sends me photos of people waving at the camera (me), and my sister texts me photos of the marching band at games. i don't regret coming at all. i have so many friends here, i really think it is a valuable experience if you think it could be right for you.
c) how many schools did you apply to? which ones were you accepted to?
just exeter, and just exter.
d) what made you pick -schoolnamehere-?
exeter? well, you see.... i kinda have wanted to go to boarding school since 4th grade when i read the harry potter books. i havent change one bit. heckles to betsy, i wrote a paper on exeter-hogwarts parallels at the beginning of school. its so fantastic. i came in not really knowing what exeter was, its true, the viewbooks make it seems like we always play. we always seem to work. but its so much fun. really. you can have a lot of fun with people who want to work.
e) "sell" your school, why is your school great.
nah. i really dont have time. sorry. i definitely need to do my language homework, and go over what im going to say for a presentation in biology in 45 minutes. i love it, thats about it.

thanks for answering my questions, very informative. :)

Here's some!
1. How much homework can you expect nightly?

It depends. We have a two hour study hall, and I usually get most of it done then. But, sometimes I have to study.

What about sick days? Do you just call in? As in, the same as a public school?

No. You have to go to the health center before your first class.

Are the academics more difficult? Or just higher in volume...

They are much more difficult than at public school. Not in a scary way, though, because the teachers can help a lot and they are very clear.
4. Hazing? (This hadn't even crossed my mind initially, only until some I told I was applying to Exeter said something to the tune of "Oh my but what about the hazing?" Ugh.)

There is no hazing at all at my school, not even bullying to the freshman. All of the upperclassmen were extremely helpful.

SLEEP. Please tell me. I've managed to squeeze in 8-9 hours nightly for the past couple years, how BAD is the lack of sleep?

I like being able to sleep in till 7. I am used to getting up early, so I don't really mind it. I usually get to sleep for 8 hours.

Were you expecting an acceptance? If so, why? If not, why?

No, not at all. I think it was becasue I thought that the admissions process was going to be more hard. I also doubted myself.

What were your 'paper' stats? GPA, SSAT etc.

I had straight A's and a 96 in my SSATS (92 in Vocab, 96 in Reading, and 99 in Math) and a lot of extracurriculras.

Was the school you're attending your top choice? If it was, has it lived up to the expectations so far?

Yes, it was. I love it so much!

What was your interview experience like?

I really liked my interviews, because I feel like it helped me learn more about the school.

What other schools were you accepted to?

Pennington and I was waitlisted at Lawrenceville.

Lastly, how is it!? Are you enjoying yourself? Anything you would have done differently?

I love it so much! I don't think I would have done anything differently.
