Food is definitely above average for college dining and sometimes is actually gourmet- I’ve had quail during lunch at West Servery. If you get tired of your own servery, lots of people usually check the menus and go to another one that’s serving better food that meal.
There are also recurring themes: pho bar on Wednesdays at Seibel, taco Tuesdays at Baker, etc. If all else fails (usually this occurs at the end of the year), Houston has an amazing and affordable food scene. Make some friends with cars and drive to Bellaire for Chinese food or Hillcroft for Indian!
