Hi everyone,

I am currently a sophomore at Wharton, and indicated in the title, I transferred in from the college.

At this time of the year everyone is preparing their applications, or most likely freaking out about how their lives will be ruined after they are rejected everywhere.

I have this thread to encourage people to ask questions about what life is like at Penn. I have a very diverse group of friends, so if I have not experienced something, I know someone who has.

Ask about social life, clubs, academics, athletics, greek life, applications, the internal transfer process, funny stories, sad stories, etc.

I look forward to answering your questions.

wow dude, you have waaay too much free time

how do students make friends the first few days of freshman year? penn preview? rooommate? dorm mates? clubs? frats? etc

So how is the party scene at Upenn? And how would you rate the overall hotness of the female student body? I know its an ivy league but i heard the uPenn girls are pretty hot. Just wondering as all.

I am curious about the process for internally transferring to Wharton. When do you apply and how many internal transfers are accepted each year?

Hi everyone,

Thanks for being patient, I was severely under the weather this weekend.

“wow dude, you have waaay too much free time”

Eh, most people can choose to do with their free time what they will, everyone I speak to has a decent amount though.

"how do students make friends the first few days of freshman year? penn preview? rooommate? dorm mates? clubs? frats? etc "

Dorms are the the standard way to initially meet people. Some people get very close to their hall, I personally didn’t. All of the clubs and organizations are very opening to freshman, you will have dozens of opportunities to meet people that do things you like.

"So how is the party scene at Upenn? And how would you rate the overall hotness of the female student body? I know its an ivy league but i heard the uPenn girls are pretty hot. Just wondering as all. "

Penn has a pretty good party scene, at least compared to similar schools, Thursday and Saturday are the big nights. Being in Philadelphia, if you can pass for 21 there will be always stuff going on. Frat parties are pretty common throughout the year as well as parties for individual clubs and organizations, although those will be smaller. With regard to the girls, Penn has a large student body, there are people who are good looking and not good looking just as everywhere else. Most people seem to find good looking partners on any given night.

“I am curious about the process for internally transferring to Wharton. When do you apply and how many internal transfers are accepted each year?”
This website gives the details:
[Policies & Procedures](http://spike.wharton.upenn.edu/ugrprogram/advising/transferstudents/policiesnprocedures.cfm)

Essentially it is determined entirely by gpa, the gpa is determined by the number of people that transfer out of wharton. You can apply at the end of freshman year, or at the end of first or second semester sophomore year.

hello tennisjump,

hope you are still helping with this thread. I saw this from the link you posted about the historical transfer numbers and qualifying GPA, could you please tell us what was the 2008-09 and the 2009-10 GPA cut off. I assume you were part of the 2009-10 internal transfer.

[Historical Numbers](http://spike.wharton.upenn.edu/ugrprogram/advising/transferstudents/q13.cfm)

Thanks

Could you tell us more about the internal transfer process from the college to Wharton?
