<p>Hey all,</p>

<p>Christine here. I'm an SMC junior, psychology major, NJ native, and next year's captain of the Varsity Swim Team. I'm also a coordinator for one of our big clubs on campus, the Founder's Society, next years secretary for Psi Chi, the Psychology honors society into which I have been inducted, and a Dean's List student and Honors Program member for all of the semesters I have been at SMC. This past fall I also spent the semester abroad studying in Florence, Italy.</p>

<p>Now that you know a little about me, I'm here to answer any and all SMC questions that would be best directed at a student at the college. <p>Is SMC a big drug/party school? I am very catholic so this doesn’t really appeal to me. I know all schools will have some parties, but are there a lot at SMC?</p>

<p>Like you said, all colleges have parties. That being said, I feel SMC is just as average as any other school. There are people who fall along all points of the spectrum: those who like to go out a bit too much, those who can balance school and social life, and those who prefer to stay in on the weekends. Wherever you fit in, there will always be friends to meet, even if you are a little of each!</p>

<p>Sorry for the delayed response. Admissions asked me to take over for Christine. First, I’ll introduce myself. </p>

<p>My name is Gabbi, Class of 2013. I am a Digital Arts, Journalism, and Media Studies major from California. <p>As for the Art department, I am familiar with it through friends who a) have taken art classes and b) are art majors/minors. All the feedback I’ve heard is very positive. My friend took ceramics this past semester and loved it! I am taking Drawing 1 next semester. A girl in the Acabellas took Art History (she is an art minor) said it was challenging, but what college class isn’t at least slightly challenging?</p>

<p>Gabbi, My son’s biggest concern about St Mike’s is getting bored going to such a small school, with limited student body, clubs, activities etc. Can you address that?</p>

<p>I’m happy to!</p>

<p>Yes, St. Mike’s is small, but I find that there is always a ton to do not only on campus, but in Burlington. Burlington hosts several colleges including UVM, Champlain College, and Burlington College. There are concerts, movies, and places to eat. The bus system is free to SMC students, so we have easy access. On campus, we have clubs like Turtle Underground, which provides live music for students on the weekends. The Student Association hosts events like the Fall Comedian, Spring concert, and Friday Knight Dry. </p>

<p>On campus, there is a constant stream of club and sporting events. I find that I am constantly busy and able to be involved in several different areas. As a journalism major, I am not limited to working on the school paper. I can sing in an acapella group and be a tour guide. That is the beauty of a small school. A student is able to explore many subjects both in and out of the classroom.</p>
