if she is really interested in nursing, you may want to look at Ramapo. I’m a hs teacher and many of our grads attend there for the outstanding nursing program. My daughter is finishing her third year there as a lit. major. Stunning, small campus. Not too far from the city…highly recommend!

TCNJPLEASE: The hours of the Physical Enhancement Center are:

M - Th : 7am to 10pm
F : 7am to 8pm
Sat - Sun : 10am to 6pm

And to the nursing student, TCNJ has a very strong nursing program! Our nurses benefit from the small lecture classes and small clinical classes. Our nursing program has a 100% placement rate within 1 year of graduation. We find that our nurses are working in hospitals in the local area, Philadelphia and beyond. For more information on the TCNJ nursing program, follow this link [School of Nursing :: The College of New Jersey](School of Nursing and Health Sciences | TCNJ)

Is there honors housing, or are people assigned housing strictly based on their freshman seminar choice?

There is no honors housing. Freshmen are housed by their Freshman Seminar class. Although your roommate may not be in the same seminar, some of your floormates will be.

Since students are housed by their freshman seminar does this mean that they have no choice between Travers/Wolfe and Cromwell?

Yeah pretty much. I believe that all of the Honors FSPs are housed in Cromwell but that’s about it, otherwise it’s pretty much up to chance.

Hi, i’d like to be a biology major at TCNJ but i don’t know if my grades are good enough for me to get in.
i’m currently a junior, i live in NJ, after next year i’ll have taken AP biology and AP chem as well as honors calculus and Spanish 1-5. currently my GPA is at 3.8 and it will most likely stay there. I am unaware of my class rank, but if i dont lie at the top 10% i just missed the mark. I got a 1900 on my SATS, im going to retake them again before i send out my application, ive done volunteering at hospitals and have ALOT of community service hours in the summer. TCNJ’s my number one school and i’d love to go there. do you think i have a chance?

yeah you def will…it’s really not that hard to get in…

I don’t know. Your gpa is high enough but only two ap classes, as well as a 1900 might not be enough. The average sat is 1350/1600, and those numbers are old and I’d imagine they’ve gone up.

You’ll get into tcnj, but unless you add more AP classes and increase your SAT I’d say your chances are marginal for bio.

Dr. Lovett said they had 1300 apps for 80 spots this year. So it’s obviously not a joke.

My stats for this year:
Early decision
1380/1600
7 APs
94.7 GPA (top 15%)

as far as my APs go, i dont have any control in changing them this late into the year, but if i were to bring my SAT score up to around 2100 and participate in activities such as EMT courses this summer, do you think that would be enough?

I can’t really say. I know people who had higher stats than me not get in as well as people with lower stats than me who did get in (I don’t know of anyone who had less than a 1300/1600 get in, though). It seems to be very subjective, ie SATs and GPA aren’t very determinant. I do, however, think that schedule rigor is very important to them as the biology major itself is very rigorous.

As I said, they had 1300 applications for 80 spots… there’s no guarantee for anyone.
