What's the rewarding/interesting/fulfilling part of the job?

Does the amount of travel that mgt. consulting necessitates get in the way of having a life outside of work?

Aren't you an incoming freshman?

I dont work in management consulting, but my brother and brothers friend took a job last year at MBB and pretty much told me everything I need to know. So the title may have been a little deceiving but no i do not work in consulting but i know enough about it to answer most peoples questions.

From the people i know, management consulting does not interfere too much with having a life outside of work. Monday through Wednesday/Thursday you travel, Friday you work till around 5 and the weekends are usually free unless there is a deadline coming up.

How hard is it to get a management consulting job coming out of a top 10 institution? Is any sort of liberal arts major alright? Do you have to do a junior year summer internship at a management consulting firm before you can get hired full-time like in IB?

Management consulting most certainly can affect your work/life balance. The hours can be brutal. As glamorous as you may think it is, most of what you'll do will be grunt-work at the beginning, and you probably won't have a lot of client exposure at the beginning either. I do consulting myself, and I've created a particular niche with my own interests, but I would strongly urge any of you who are interested to keep your eyes open to any and all business opportunities and not pigeonhole yourself into consulting off the bat.

Where can I get a health care consulting internship?
