Ask me anything about BEAR facts!

@asdfferent I probably saw you then, if you ever saw a blonde guy with a yellow or blue shirt that was me, I know it’s kinda general but I was seriously one of the only blonde persons in the entire BCOE room haha. And yeah I saw the computer science kids I feel for ya!

@haha yeah ours was “Allie Allie, Allie Allie, Allie Allie, Allie Allie we’re hot hot hot” lol

Yeah, I’m pretty sure I saw you. If you think being one of the only blonde in the room was bad, try being one of two girls in the computer science/ computer engineering group. Apparently people in computer science don’t enjoy talking about anything other than computer science.

asdfferent do you remember how everyone got a transcript thingy from the engineering woman? Were you one of the few that didn’t get one at first and had to go to a separate room because I remember most of the people who major changed (including me) had to go to a room where they talked to us about it and we had to write our names on a piece of paper along with our SID and I remember a girl in there who had major changed I’m not sure if it was you or not. then we went back to the main engineering room where they were discussing the recommended schedules for each major

Uhh, I got my class schedule thing, but it didn’t matter, because I opted out of the learning community and had to build a schedule from scratch. So to answer your question, that was not me.

asdfferent, is your name Katie, if so I was in your group lol

:( The dance at the end was disappointing for the 7/9-7/10 sessions. Everyone just stood around watching the orange, who quickly left the area. There wasn’t much to do that night, overall the bear facts orientation experience was quite a thrill though. :D

lol that’s unfortunate but i can definitely imagine it. I was actually surprised at ours because it was like majority honors kids and there was a lot of em getting down haha.

@jaycers Were there a lot of people at the dance? I was too tired to go so i had no idea what the whole thing was like, so do u mind describing it a bit :P

What exactly is SUHP?

[UCR, Honors Program- SUHP (Summer University Honors Program)](http://www.honors.ucr.edu/SUHP.html)

@TonyThaTiger: no, that isn’t my name, but if it was I probably wouldn’t admit to just bashing on my orientation group.

@haha, it was basically just any other dance it actually reminded me a lot of prom everyone was in a big circle where all of the major dancing was and then on the outside was like the people who wanted to dance but were too scared so they would like watch and stuff lol it was funny and occasionally there was like a couple of guys that would start breakdancing/dance-offs it was pretty funny. Outside of the dance they had a big room where a bunch of people were playing board games and they were giving out free food and drinks. But after the dance was over a lot of the people still stayed up and hung out in the halls/dorms. I shouldn’t have stayed up so late the next morning I woke up 2 hours late and i had to run down halfway through the tutorial on how to register for classes on GROWL haha luckily they didn’t seem to care.

wait… we sleep in UCR right? or do we hafto go somewhere else for the night

You sleep in the Pentland Residence Halls

Thanks! Also do we make our schedule then and there?

Yeah you will make your schedule on the second day of your orientation, everyone waits outside the computer lab and people are lined up single file and as other people finish inside you go in and register for your classes on GROWL.

So I am kind of screwed with choosing good classes casue my orientation date in on the 2 and 3 of august!

it all depends, but they are suppose to save a certain amount of spots in the major classes per orientation dates. But you will have to consider that even if there are saved spots, u will be fighting among the people of the same orientation date for certain classes at a certain time

oh okay. so being one of the first to register would be a good idea.

it’s always good to be first, but i think you’ll be fine. You don’t have to start with all of the major specific classes there’s so many different classes you will need to take for BREADTH so just remember if to keep at least two BREADTH options for every major specific class in case they are all full.
