Yes, if people wanted, they could find a school where they could go for free. Try looking in lower tiers.

Dear mike,
Do you have experience with boarding schools? If so, please go to my Prep School Admissions thread.

Thank you.

I saw your chances thread. You look really good. The only experience I have is that I got rejected from all my boarding schools because I had low SSAT scores. I didn't reapply in 9th grade. I saved my parents money that will be spent on a tuition to a private Uni. Exeter will be a good place for you. I loved their physics lab when I visited.

mike,
I'm really bored right now, can you give some suggestions on what to do to keep myself busy?

Go to your newspaper, in the section section and the thrid page, there will be an article about which you know nothing about. Become and expert on the topic and write a 250 word essay on this forum.

Or i could just copy and paste from wikipedia...but that doesn't really solve my problem.

OK, so, do 100 push ups and 100 sit ups. No time limit. They do not need to be one consecutive set.

that sounds like a good idea.

mike,
what exacly does your sn mean?

There is a sports talk radio program out of New York City called, Mike and the Mad Dog, with Mike Francessa and Chris "Mad Dog" Russo, on sports radio 66, AM 660. I enjoy it as it talks about the yankees constantly.

It at the same time represents me (mike) and(n) the (the) craziness (mad) that is my life, dogg (dog).

i get 660 and i hate how they always talk about the yanks. new york sports talk stations can talk about one derek jeter about for a half hour.
Yo miguel i got a question. Why did I start Carson Palmer instead of kurt warner this week. its onlyhalf time and warner has two td's and carson while efficient today threw no td's at all.

Because you though Carson Palmer was 2005 Carson Palmer, gunslinger and fantasy GOD, not 2006 Carson Palmer who wants to be tenative and nurse his knee (which is NOT 100% no matter what people say).

Because Everyone makes mistakes on first fantasy week.

Because you didnt think the Cardinals would be that explosive.

Because you didn't think the 49ers would be the 49ers.

Because you don't know that fantasy football is not about who you have, but what NFL opponents you have.

mike,
you know the chaos theory, right? you probably do, but I'll say it anyway.
It states that if a butterfly were to flap it's wings in Tokyo, it could cause a tornado in Texas.
now, my question is: why di he pick Tokyo and Texas?? I'm just wondering.

maybe this is a question for ChaosTheory. lol

actually carson was going against kc and i think we all know that they are prone to giving up some yards. the have spent the past few years trying to upgrade their secondary. Carson lit it up in his preseason games so he looked like the sure bet. Preseason is preseason but he was looking close to form.

Such is not the case with "Chaos Theory." Chaos is not the idea of 'butterflies cause tornadoes' nor 'killer butterflies.' There is no specific place for 'Chaos' - Thus it's name.

It is the idea that minute differences in anything can cause changes on a much larger scale. Edward Lorenz was a meteorologist, working on weather prediction. He created a program that would predict the weather.
"In order to save time, he started in the middle of the sequence, instead of the beginning. He entered the number off his printout and left to let it run. When he came back an hour later, the sequence had evolved differently. Instead of the same pattern as before, it diverged from the pattern, ending up wildly different from the original."
What Lorenz did was - to save time, he changed the sequence numbers to three decimal places instead of six. Now think of the difference between .506127 and .506. A difference of .000127 caused an extremely different sequence. (This 'sequence' was a graphed prediction - these were his exact numbers.)

The butterfly metaphor is simply used to encompass the general idea of Chaos Theory.
So much for my English report...
Anyway, very intellectually stimulating. :D

In Fact I just watched The Butteryfly Effect. yes, I have been exposed to choas theory.

Well for starters, it wouldn't work the other way around. Whens the last time there has been a Tornado in Tokyo? Texas has all that flat land, prime spot for tornados.

There are two key words that I want to empahsize are F and COULD, they really aren't saying anything, will or has happened, but maybe in someone's imagination they could.

Now lets look at some more diction - bu*tterfly. Why would butterfly be used? Perhaps it is because of the two consecutive Ts that lead one to the **Tokyo and **T*exas.

Perhaps, he was a japanese immigrant who came up with the thoery while studing at UT Austin.

All speculation, but it COULD happen

EDIT: OR, you could look at the post above

the T thing seems way far off...but it's amusing.

I put the VICE in advice column!

What time should I take a shower tonight?

I'm planning to eat a pizza that says "XXL pepperoni pizza" on it. It doesn't sound too healthy, but I've been eating healthy for quite some time and I really need a break.
any thoughts?

mike, I'm new here at CC and I'm not sure what to do...
