If anyone can answer these, that’d be greeeaatt…

Are people at NYU really focused on their appearance? Like are sweatshirts and sweatpants frowned upon? Do people not care? Do students in CAS get all dressed up to go to school? (I know you’re a Sternie, but maybe you know.)

Will it be hard being a freshman commuter? Will I miss out on a lot?

Do clubs have regular meetings? Are the “fun” clubs fun?

If you don’t get a 3.5+ GPA, will you struggle more than others who have a higher gpa in finding a good job at big name banks?

What is the Stern Curve like? And everyone says “if you work hard, you will do well” but HOW hard does someone need to work in order to do well? Is it like going way above and beyond the notes the teacher gives what you can access in the textbooks? Studying and reading things over and over and over? If you have 24 hours in a day and you spend 7 hours sleeping, how much of those other 17 hours will you need to spend on academics? Please be specific about these things :)

Are the grades just based on midterms or are there regular occurring tests also?

Where are the parties, and how good are they?

What are the girls like? How do people bring them back home?

Is it possible to be admitted and then take an sat in may or something to place out of WTE?

Hi. What can I do to transfer into Stern? If you know of anything please let me know!

Thanks so much for this incredibly helpful thread. What do feel you are missing out on at NYU that you’d have at a another college? What do current students dislike most about Stern/NYU?
