EVERYONE!!! please help this girl out!!! lol.

FALL EXTENSION OR COMMUNITY COLLEGE????

the only thing that is stopping my dad from letting me do the fall extension program is the COST of it. which.....i can understand....but i really would LOVE to attend the program. i just think it would be sooooo much better. much easier on my life.....but my dad chewed me out for 20 minutes about the cost and how we dont have any money -_- what can i do?!?! ahh!

fall extension, it's not as expensive as regular cal tuition, and you get integrated into berkeley earlier. You'll have lots of fun.

fall extension = football season.
CC = no football.
football season tickets for freshman are free.

I got admitted into the College of Chemistry as a Chemical Engineering major. Can I double major in Chemical Engineering and Business at Haas? I know that it sounds unrealistic and extremely difficult but I want to know if it's possible, given the right amount of work and effort.

Question for EECS students:
I'm admitted to EECS and I would like to have an easier first semester to kinda get used to the new setting. What courses/profs would you recommend? Do Math 1A, Physics 7A, CS 61A, + some kinda of humanities sound too bad? I know many of you are very smart so please be objective. lol

you can double in chem E and Haas. you'll need to put in a lot of work though.
i'm not eecs but math1a + phy 7a + cs 61a + some humanities sounds like a good courseload. i don't know how many units cs 61a is worth but if it's 4 units, then you can actually take math + phy + cs (just 3 classes) your first semester. minimum units per semester for CoE is 12.

yeah CS 61A is 4 units. Thanks riyam.

I got into spring semester for CLS Undeclared without business emphasis one. Can i still get into Haas? Is it also possible to transfer to the engineering department? I know that UCLA allows it with some strict requirements, but Ive been unable to find any information for that on Berks website.

Yea, even if you said Business was your major on the app, you aren't considered that in the eyes of berkeley. You take the business pre-reqs then apply for Haas at the end of your sophmore year, and hope you get in.

It is possible to transfer into engineering, but I'm not sure of the difficulty. you may need to wait at least a semester, and they could have gpa requirements and such.

how easy is it to double major? i was thinkin of double majoring in app math and econ

^^ easy

how hard would it be to double major with one of your majors as engineering and the other being micro and cell biology?

Not so easy to do engineering + MCB. Why not just do BioE?

I was thinking about living in a triple to save money, but after reading some of the posts, the consensus is that they're pretty crappy. Is it really that bad? Is there a big difference between living in a triple and a double? And does anyone know how much you actually save living in a triple instead of a double?

you save a little, projected rates are here:

I got into Cal's EECS class of 2011, but I'm afraid of the competitiveness and stress. It would be helpful to know how many people survive in Cal's EECS entering sophomore year and entering junior year. (PS. its OK to throw scary statistics at me; I personally want to go to UCLA, but my parents won't let me. Give me some reason so I can go to UCLA wink, wink nudge, nudge)

is it impossibly hard to double major in math & biology (genetics)?

I got in to cal's college of letters and science but i don't remember what major i applied for...but i know that i want to do business at haas, so what are some classes that i have to take in order to be in haas?

also, is it really that difficult to get into haas?

thanks in advance! :]
