Ask questions about Taft here

Hey guys! I am a current freshman at Taft, and I love answering questions and giving advice! I promise I will give my completely honest opinion to any question you have about Taft. I think this will be especially beneficial to incoming sophomores and freshman because I have a more recent perspective of what it’s like to be a underclassmen. So ask away prospective students, parents, and anyone who’s just wondering!

Also, anything about the admissions process! I want everyone to feel as comfortable as possible when visiting and applying!

Last thing, I promise! If you have no idea where you’re applying or if you’re applying, and just want to know about boarding in general, feel free to chime in!

MODERATOR’S NOTE:
All students/parents/alum.staff/etc. are also welcome to answer questions. Additionally, despite the header title (which I edited), do not ask “literally anything.” As examples, do not ask for chances - she does not know. Use the pointless (IMO) chance forum for that. Don’t put users in an awkward position by asking questions that no student has the answer to, e.g. acceptance rate by grade/state/country.

Why did you choose Taft over the other schools? What do you think got you into taft?

After M10, the main decision was between Loomis and Taft. What made the difference was a variety of things. Taft is a lot better at sports, especially mine. I play volleyball and I have found this fall that the volleyball program is amazing and open to players of all levels. It academics are excellent in all areas, and the arts are great too, especially theatre and dance. Finally, there are so many things to choose from at Taft, from cooking to music to our stunning debate and math teams. I think I got into Taft because they look to educate the whole student. If you have a balance of academic achievement and extra curriculars, it will do you good both during the application process and at the school. Good luck @sz1250250!?
