Ask vicissitudes: Spring Admits (FAQ included)

I’m wondering, for FPF, which math class I should take? I’m taking Calc AB right now, I’ll be taking the AP test soon, and I feel that AB is really easy.
Out of Math 1A, Math 16A, and Math 1B, which one should I take? My friend says Math 1A because it’s “easier,” therefore starting off with a higher GPA, but I feel that it’s a waste of time to take a class so similar to Calc AB. What should I do?

I also want to know what’s the difference between the RC classes… they all kind of look the same to me, looking at their course descriptions.

Thanks!

Okay, a couple of questions.
As others asked, I sent my $100 check in the Mail today, FPF spots don’t fill up too quick right? I still have a good chance of getting in?
How soon will I be able to choose classes?
Also what will be the total cost for the year including dorming if I take FPF? Is it 26 thousand +4 thousand for FPF, or it’s less since for one semester I’m doing FPF?

has anyone heard from the alumni scholarship?

sebanie, Math 16A-B are the easier courses. 1A-B are the harder courses

What would be your recommendation for someone who received a 5 on the calc AB exam? Which one is not too hard but also doesn’t go over the same content as AB does.

What is your major? and are you pre-anything (med, grad, pharm, etc.)?

@anon5524485: Oh, thanks for clarifying. [=

I suppose my question would then be the same as HelloAll’s.

pre-business/econ, still deciding. prolly pre-biz

^Both Haas and Dept. of Econ don’t care whether you take 1A-B or 16A-B, so take 16A-B

Cools, Thanks. Is there somewhere where I can check which courses are available for FPF? How limited are they in classes?

http://www.unex.berkeley.edu/fpf/course_selection_form.pdf

So! Financial aid? I’m confused because the financial aid notification I got in the mail, it splits in down Fall/Spring semester. Since we’re Spring admits, do we get only the Spring portion? Or… something else?

I intend to pursue business major in my third year in Berkeley.
Can someone comment on my schedule for the FPF?
Math 1A, 1 RC course, Sociology3AC, Geography20.
Thank you and really appreciate.

add to the prior post.
Is it reasonable to take 3 breadth course in FPF?

Do not take Math 1A, take 16A instead. Haas and Econ do not care between whether you took 16A or 1A.

That seems like a good schedule.

When I did FPF I took: Classics 10A, Anthro 1, Philos 2, and ESPM 50AC.

Taking three breadth courses would be fine, but the schedule you should consists of two breadths. Two breadths is most typical. I was rarity with four breadths.

How much do Econ Major required coursers differ from Business required courses before we apply for Haas in our Junior year?

Does it mean its probably of no use to take any AP Exams (technically) unless its both macro/micro, AP Lit and Comp, AP Lang and Comp, or Calc BC?

How do you know if you reserved a spot in FPF? I have a check mark next to my Enroll in FPF box, does that mean i reserved a spot?

The FPF is full for now but when I received the check mark, they were still open.

Also, how often do FPF people get housing? And what do we do if we dont get housing?

ummm I going down the premed track and dont know what courses to pick for FPF
Odds are I’m going to take English R1A since I wont be able to get a 5 on the AP test. As for math, im cant decide between math 1a or math 16? And is there any breadth courses that would help me with my major (biochem)?
I’m contemplating sociology and psychology…?
Can anyone help me please?
