Now that I've been pinged everywhere I applied, I need to figure out what to do with myself. Applying again is still an option, but of course there's not much point if I can't correct this round's problems.

Does it make sense to write to schools and ask for explanations of my rejection? When should I do this?

Also, has anyone here ever used an admissions consulting service? Any thoughts?

You applied for IR right? I think alot of admissions counselors will speak to you personally about your application at SAIS and SIPA among others. Its definitely worth an attempt.

Really? That's fantastic. Any advice on how long I should wait to call? I imagine they are currently still swamped...

I still did not hear from SAIS, GG.

How did u get your notification? FedEx or USPS?

My level of anxiety hit its highest... what is your stats like?

I don't remember if you applied to Fletcher, but they're known for giving personalized feedback to rejected applicants after April/May (the info is somewhere on their website, might be a good guideline for the other schools, too). I'm not sure about SAIS or SIPA.

Got my letter this afternoon by post. Good luck.

df,

I didn't. I wonder, considering that SIPA got back to me in late Feb., if they might be ready to take a call.

They are pretty nice so Call them up and be like "I recently found I wasn't accepted to (insert school name) and was wondering if there was someone I could talk to with regards to ways for improving my application?" If they say no, don't take it personally but I know my friend did this for SAIS last year and they gave him pretty specific tips for improving his app and getting more relevant experience.

SIPA tells me I should call back in late May, so that's what I shall do.
