Asking for a sticky thread, or contacting mods for non-offense issues

Is there a way to contact the moderators other than reporting offensive posts? (I mean, other than creating a new thread here?) I would like to ask that the “Introduce yourselves” thread in the music forum be made “IMPORTANT:” and stuck to the top of the list, for quick reference.

Thanks.
Hi Binx,

Moderator College Mom took care of sticking the thread you requested.

As for contacting mods, posting here (although I admit we do not check this forum so often) OR using the report post feature will make your communication available to all the mods. It is OK to use the report post feature to inquire about some other issue.

The other option would be to send a PM to a particular mod, but I don’t like to encourage that since the mods are volunteers who put in time as they can. Sending something to ALL the mods (via this forum or a reported post) gives it more chances of being addressed by someone who has the time.

Hope this helps.

JEM, two questions

How many post does it take to become a senior member?

How does someone become a moderator? 10,000 post + with most being informational?

ASMAJ,

Senior members have 1K posts.

Moderators are invited after a long history of helpful and productive posting. A helpful and welcoming attitude, plus demonstrated longevity and commitment to the community, are the key attributes.

Can you stick my “Stern FAQ” thread in NYU forum? It address questions I must’ve answered 50 times in the past year…
