My concern is that 1) way more British students met their conditions this year so many courses are oversubscribed and I would imagine that spills over to accomodations 2) some universities have early confirmation dates for students who put them as their first choice, such as July 31, I don’t know if Imperial does it.

Wanted to add and emphasise that, like other posters, I think it’s the short term practical issues that are the problem here. Finding a job or grad program in 4 years with a degree from Imperial shouldn’t be a problem at all.

is this ethical / allowed? I cannot hold a confirmed place in 2 colleges?
You can hold a place in the US and one abroad.
You would of course forfeit your deposit at the US college if you go to Imperial.
