<p>Possible, but NU is not really a peer to S, so I wouldn’t advise asking them using the words “match” the other offer. </p>
<p>That said, there’s no harm in asking for a FA review. It’s possible that S made a miscalculation since their FA policies are usually more generous than NU. I’d call S, say that you really want to attend but money is a concern, mention NUs offer and ask if they could review your FA offer. The worst thing they could do is say no.</p>
<p>I don’t know what your financial situation is but if you can afford Stanford then that is the direction I would choose. As entomom said…it can’t hurt to ask…but if you can swing it financially without mortgaging your entire future…it would be very difficult to walk away from Stanford.</p>
