Well im applying to college this year and im not too sure where i want to go yet, so i want to apply to many colleges(like anywhere between 6-12) if i dont get into my first choice early(which is almost impossible for me lol).

Yeah i have two great teachers that i would ask for recommendations, but would asking them to fill out so many recommendations be a bad thing? Should i just split the recommendations among 4 teachers or what? i dont really want to give them too much work or anything

Hmmm, I had the same problem, though luckily 11 of the 12 schools I applied to used the common app, so if the common app is possible for you then I would definitely recommend that route. Also, at least in our school, what teachers do is write a letter about you [two or three paragraphs usually], and then when you give them the teacher recommendation form, they will usually just say see attached, and then do the checkboxes, it's definitely easier for them, b/c then all they have to do is the easy stuff like write their name and experience, etc. But at the same time, teachers are used to writing plenty of recommendations for students so if they don't adopt the method mentioned before they will just fill them out. All you have to do is make sure to get them all the forms early enough to give them enough time to write a strong recommendation. Good luck :)

Yeah, that's how my school worked. I just use the same 2 teachers for all six applications (plus two more scholarship applications)--they'll only write one letter for you--just give them them all the forms (with your part filled out) and (stamped and addressed!) envelopes.
