Aspergers and college

my son has recently been diagnosed with mild aspergers. He has no learning disabilities and takes all AP and Honors courses and has scored well on the SAT’s. What colleges will best accomodate his “social” issues and allow him to flourish.

Here is one good thread in the Parents forum, I know there are others that others can point you to:

In addition to individual schools named there, far more colleges and universities are developing programs or have programs in place that you simply need to ask about. Just as in all other levels of education we are seeing more and more support systems pop up at the collegiate level, especially as kids with ADHD. Aspergers/High functioning autism, etc are being diagnosed earlier and getting the supports they need to succeed at the pre-collegiate levels. Many of these kids are extremely bright and colleges are taking notice and making accommodations and support available to attract and help support these kids. Good luck!

Thank you. I am finding that many of the kids discussed are whizes at science and math. My son has the opposite problem. He does okay in those subjects but skates through english and history (his first love). Any suggestions for colleges with great liberal arts/humanities?

Would he like The Classics as a major?

I am not sure. He likes greek and roman history but he is really bad at languages. Anything with history in its name is his favorite. LOL
