Word is that her son took it.
Ah the only article I saw said the son “stumbled on” the video while using the mom’s computer but there is scant info except tweets and I never take Tweets seriously as the vast majority have incorrect or unverified allegations.
I would definitely like more information on the Keith Ellison scenario, if true, he needs to be run out of office.
The fact that the media is not reporting is telling. Can’t say that liberal media is protecting a liberal politician cause the media sure gave Al Frank no credence. Ellison’s charges are a whole lot worse that a hug at a state fair.
I’ve seen multiple reports on the Ellison accusations. Not sure where you are getting news if you have not seen them. Also I think all the articles on his primary win mentioned the accusations. I do follow a lot of MN news sources, since I lived there for 30 years. Minnesotans (his voters) are aware, I think.
Could be. I lived there for 8 years but I don’t have the Star Trib in my feed.
I have Star Trib, Pioneer Press, and MPR — all have had multiple articles on it.
I googled Star Tribune and did see them mentions from 14 hours ago. Apparently he won the election Tuesday. The timing is suspect and I imagine after the Al Franken railroading Minnesota press are being cautious. If it’s the truth the video will surface and he will stand in judgement.
Here’s a couple recent articles that came into my feed regarding MeToo and accusations and the potential of hijacking the cause - but it’s to be expected. It took a couple years for men to push back on Dear Colleague and the connection to MeToo is not too far behind. Right or wrong I welcome the attempts to find some sort of equilibrium between the sexes…it can never be one-sided nor can it be based on birth gender.

Keith Ellison has a second incident with another women. Documented in 911 call incident log. Not proof but most of these stories don’t have corroborating calls to 911. If it were a different person I think the news would be much louder around it. Which is sad.

@momofthreeboys Not sure where you get your news, but I don’t have the impression the media is not reporting on Ellison or protecting him.
It’s my impression that if the media had the video Monahan says exists but won’t release, the story would blow up across all media outlets.
Right now, it seems like the story is on a simmering boil, waiting for the next person to speak up, offer evidence, or corroborate. If Ellison’s alleged behavior is an open secret, or semi-open secret, it’s only a matter of time before it’s exposed.
I’d hope people would begin to understand how difficult it can be to speak up – as victim or bystander. There are negative consequences to participating in the take down of a rising star or powerful person. There is a lot of pressure to look the other way, keep your head down and mouth shut.
Can someone summarize the allegations against Ellison? What I read seemed sleazy but not criminal; maybe I haven’t read the right reports.
I saw a report of a 911 call involving assault against another different girlfriend.
@“Cardinal Fang”
Allegations of domestic abuse.
One recent ex-girlfriend, Karen Monahan, says she has video to prove domestic abuse, but won’t release it. Her adult son says he has seen the video of Ellison arguing with his mom, calling her names, and getting physically aggressive with her. Some media outlets are reporting friends of Monahan’s corroborate her story but wish to remain anonymous for fear of backlash.
Then, there is another woman from 2006 ? that went public (back then?) with a similar story. Ellison losing his temper and getting physical with her, with nasty name calling. She says they were having an affair. Ellison denies everything and says they were not in a relationship.
That’s all I know.
Long term relationship allegations of abuse is the summary. Possible video but not confirmed by independent source>
There is a Star Tribune article on the first accusations from 5 days ago if you Google (so the day before the election). I don’t have clicks, so can’t post the link.
MPR has one on 8/12 as well https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.mprnews.org/story/2018/08/12/abuse-allegation-made-against-keith-ellison-denies-attorney-general-election
So stop saying the media didn’t cover it,
I do not often see news about scandals regarding candidates for state attorney general in states where I don’t live. It has to be a pretty exciting scandal to make national news.
He was a Congressman and a leader of the DNC.
I don’t think the Moonves matter drew mostly yawns. He got plenty of coverage. His case was somewhat different in that I don’t think there were any texts or photos corroborating the women’s allegations. Moonves managed to convince his board of directors that while he made some women “feel uncomfortable by making advances” his actions did not rise to a fireable offense. So the board agreed to have an outside law firm conduct an investigation. I can’t see anyone complaining about that process given there was no physical evidence to support the allegations. Seems a fair way to proceed. Are posters contending the board should have done nothing in response to these 6 women?
The reports I have read on both Moonves and Ellison tell both sides of the story. Farrow’s New Yorker article on Moonves went straight to the sources but also quoted Moonves. If you take issue with the men who have been fired you have to look to the boards and the senior executives of these companies. These are the people severing the ties not the press. And those individuals are mostly men.
It’s been reported on and discussed on NPR (radio) a bunch. I’m on a road trip and listen to that most of the time, it’s not being hidden by the media, liberal or otherwise.
I get that there is often no proof - no video, no photos, whatever - that’s normal and then we have to make a judgement call. But if there IS proof, why hide it?
