Larry Nasser is a terrible person. nevertheless, the prison needs to do a better job protecting his safety.
Personally I have never had a good feeling about Argento. I always thought she was toying with Bourdain who appeared to be very much in love with her. Posting those pics of herself embracing another man on social media was just plain mean. She had to know he would see them.
So I am not all that surprised about the hypocrisy that is coming to the surface. While she insists she never had a physical relationship with him, Bennett released a statement yesterday confirming his version of the events. So who really knows but she never impressed me as a particularly straight forward person.
Even if you believe his accuser’s version of events, I don’t believe Owen Labrie is a pedophile like Mary Kay Letourneau.
The accusations against Keith Ellison don’t seem like much. He and his girlfriend had a messy relationship, but I’m not seeing enough to make me urge a vote against Ellison for those otherwise inclined to favor him. Even if the accusations are true, there’s not much there.
Regarding the Argento situation, I’m just gratified to see that the phrase " due process" is sneaking its way back into the vocabulary of some of those involved. And I was disgusted to see Argento trashing Jimmy Bennett as a “failed child actor,” etc. That would never (and should never) fly if the tables were turned. We obviously don’t know all the facts yet, but she is looking more and more like someone who will do whatever it takes to save her own skin, even if it results in blatant hypocrisy.
Even if Bennett was just a “horny kid” who “jumped” her and had been sending her nude photos unsolicited, a woman her age, in her position, should have had the good sense to put a stop to it.
And her caption to one of the photos of the two of them taken that day (after the sex) was something about how Jimmy was going to be in her next movie. Sounds pretty casting-couch-esque to me.
Snakes on the planes…
Ariana Grande was groped onstage by the bishop during the Aretha Franklin funeral.
Funny how even here on CC, the length of her dress was criticized but this wasn’t mentioned. It’s very clear in the videos on the link. I do not believe it was an accident. Not with the way his fingers kept digging into her breast.

@mom2twogirls I was working while watching the funeral so I missed the part where he touched her. It was disgusting!! You can see from her expression she felt violated and to top it off he made the Taco Bell joke. He should step down.
I actually hadn’t watched any of the coverage but then today saw this controversy. I thought, when reading, that it wouldn’t be quite so blatant, but it really was.
The bishop fake-apologized. Note to bishop: It’s not an apology if you don’t admit you did it.
I don’t know @“Cardinal Fang” ,he says that’s how he shows love in his church.
Are you saying you don’t want to go to a Church where they blatantly grope you? Whyever not?
That was so creepy to watch. His stupid comment about Taco Bell, his groping fingers, and her trying to get away and seem to be happy at the same time. And this is at a funeral for Aretha Franklin! She should come back and slap him.
She’s a professional who has to keep smiling while he gropes her.
She gets to define the moment. If it bothered her, she is famous enough to make it a big deal or accept the apology and move on.
It was multiple moments of him kneading her breast in front of all the people there and those watching on tv. As he talked about giving her all the respect and she squirmed and looked uncomfortable.
Next time, she should wear this:
Next time she should smack him regardless of the situation.
I couldn’t bring myself to watch the video of the pastor pawing Ariana.
The still shots were enough.
“she is famous enough to make it a big deal”
She is, but it was a funeral and the perpetrator was the pastor of the church that the deceased chose. That complicates Ariana’s choices in response. There’s no way to make a big deal out of it without appearing to pull the spotlight of the funeral from Aretha and the bereaved family to herself. Arianna’s built a global brand that she doesn’t want to risk. It’s a difficult public relations problem at best.
Since we have it all on video, a prosecutor has enough evidence to bring charges, right?
