<p>Asian Male from NY from a public magnet.
Major: I plan to double major, one in business (not sure exactly what area) and French.</p>

<p>GPA Roughly: UW: 3.88, W: 3.99</p>

<p>Note: Though my W and UW are similar, my school decided to deflate GPA this year and last for reasons beyond me. I have taken the most challenging load available.</p>

<p>School doesn't rank, but roughly the second half of the top 10%.</p>

<p>SAT: Highest Single Sitting CR-680 M-750 W-760, 1430/2190
Superscore: CR-710 M-750 WR-760 1460/2220</p>

<p>SAT II's: 740 Math II, 640 :( USH I will retake the US because I got a 5 on the AP</p>

<p>AP: Psych 5 (Self-Study), USH 5, Micro 3 (Technically self-study), English Lit 3, World History 3.</p>

Varsity Soccer 4 yrs, Varsity Swimming 3 yrs (Scholar-Athlete), Varsity Track and Field 4 yrs (Captain 12)

<p>Jobs: Did math tutoring in and out of school, taught English abroad in a formal setting.
Volunteer: 50 hours at an historic landmark, 90 hours abroad doing translation services for the olympics</p>

<p>looks like you’ll have a good chance for business, perhaps AEM.</p>

<p>i dont think you’ll be able to double major business with french though because french is in CAS, and i dont think any business majors are in CAS (the closest to that would be econ). at cornell you cant double major outside of your school, so you have to choose one. and i dont see much french interest in your profile, so i’d go for the business interest</p>

<p>AEM (Applied Econ and Management) is the accredited undergraduate business program (besides Penn Wharton, the only one in the Ivy League) at Cornell. It’s not in the College of Arts and Sciences, it’s in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (can’t double major in French). It has a 10% acceptance rate. Would you be looking at that or something like Hotel Administration (a business degree w/ a hospitality twist, but you would have the same problem as far as double majoring goes) or even just Econ at Arts and Sciences (where you could double major in French)? CAS does offer a French minor that any one can apply for.</p>

<p>Ok so I visited Cornell, it is absolutely AMAZING.
btw GPA W should be about 4.039 or so.
Still working on my essays, but so far, they are IMO very good.
Assess me?</p>

<p>Yeah, you can double major in ECON and French @ College of Arts and Science. Much higher acceptance rate than AEM, so look into that.</p>

I’m not in AP Calc, in AP Stat cuz of scheduling issues.
Also I’ll be taking IB Mathematics SL not Math Studies.
I can’t play soccer sr yr cuz of back injury.
My official weighted GPA is 4.02, unofficial unweighted is 3.88.
Now the school winner of the Wendy’s Heisman Award, doubt I can make it to states but we’ll see.
Retook USH SAT II, expecting a 700 ish and perhaps 600-650 on French with Listening.
My common app essay was pretty good I think, and so is my Why Cornell CAS essay, but not spectacular.
What do you think?</p>

<p>Shameless bump: my Why Cornell CAS essay was imo pretty good. I just rewrote it. Not spectacular but effective and clear.
I retook the USH SAT II and got a 650 :frowning: How will this look compared to my 5?
And I took French w/ Listening got a 600.</p>

<p>did you already send in the other SATs before this? If so, maybe you shouldn’t send in the new USH and French SAT IIs.</p>
