i'm still just a junior and am currently enrolled in the ap versions of english, us history, and computer science. i realized in the middle of wrapping up a present that it is entirely possible that i could get a 3 or a 2 or even a 1, and that i can't just depend on past testaking skills- and i've just been hit by the fact that i have 5 months to get ready....

question 1- what is the best way to study for each of these tests to get a 4 or a 5 (comp sci help is espescially appreciated, mrs. dish is so competitive that if i get a 2 and she finds out i'll be dead to her...)?

question 2- which book should i buy?

question 3- does it matter if i get a slightly old copy from half price books (barnes n nobles is crazy expensive)?

thanks.
happy chrismahannukwanzakkah to you. ;-)

If you have a competent teacher, the most important thing to do is to pay attention in class, understand the ideas imparted, and try to get an A. If you can do well on the class tests, and if they are similar in any way to the AP Test, you will probably do well on the exam itself. After all, if you learn the concepts one at a time throughout the year, all you need to do is review them in preparation for the actual test.

I hear the Barron's and Princeton are best, though I found Cliff Notes are good for a quick and cheap review.

I don't really think so.

Good luck! I am sure you can at least manage the 3's, and 4's and 5's are never out of one's reach! ^_^

Barron's was excellent for the Comp Sci A test. I didn't do anything in the class all year but play flash games on the internet, and with some moderately intense Barron's studying over the month before the test, I pulled a 5.

AP english I got a 5 GREAT teacher-we wrote soo many essys about2-3 per week more towards the end

lots of in class assignments to get used to timing this one really hinges on the teacher and your willingness to work hard.
___I am positive that class is the reason my SAT Writing went from a 650 to a 770
We also kept journals, which actually helped.

I'm in AP Comp Science right now. Get a Barrons

APUSH 4 - just keep up with your reading assignments. We did lots of essays in there as well...ended up taking make up test

APCS: Agree with previous comments. Barrons is good.

For me, I just familiarized myself with the code and wrote several, several, several practice programs (well...I had to since it was HW). Most of those problems were on or above AP level. When the AP came, I was like..."heheh." The best thing you might want to do now might be to shuffle up on the internet some old APCS practice test/FREE RESPONSES. God bless you in your endeavors =DD
