So I've been accepted to UCI as a business econ major, and I'm not sure if I have to take every single courses listed on the assist website or just the major pre-req?

Here's the assist report for my CC to UCI business econ: ASSIST Report: CERRITOS 08-09 UCI Articulation Agreement by Major

From my understanding, one course in microeconomics, one course in macroeconomics, and one semester calculus are major requirements to be completed (which I did complete)

Basically, I've taken every courses listed on the assist website EXCEPT: one computer information course, Math 4(Differential Equations), and one course from the area of two introductory social science courses in disciplines other than economics

Would my admission be affected if I did not complete these three courses?

Should I take them at CC during summer to fulfill the requirements or I could just take them at UCI after i transfer?

Thanks for the advise!

if youve been accepted to UCI, just take the courses you said you will on your application. It would be best to take all the classes listed on the site because if you dont you will eventually have to take them AT uci. a few of them are not available at your current school, so either way you will end up having to take them at uci anyways.

So I’ll be fine with two econ courses and the calculus course taken along with and the courses listed on my application completed, right?

I know it would be better to take the courses available at my school since it’s cheaper…

Anyone know if I can still take them at CC next year during summer after I transfer to UC and then transfer the units?

Yes. You will be fine. The extra social science class and computer class are just the school requirement not the major. So basically its gen ed. Most people don’t finish math 4 requirement anyways so you’re good.

Just curious, does IGETC fulfill the extra social science class and computer class?

It’s kind of weird since I actually took one computer course at CC last year but the assist for 08-09 has been updated and does not include the one I took though…

The computer class no. But the social science class depends. Basically you have to take 4 social science class. Microecon and Macroecon count as 2 and 1 more fulfills IGETC. That means you gotta take 1 additional course if you didn’t use micro or macro as IGETC requirement.

I dunno about the computer course. You can ask the department if they are still taking your course.

So if I use microecon, macroecon, and psychology to fullfill IGETC, I still need to take 1 additional social science course at UCI for the school requirement right?

Also, anyone know if I can still take courses at CC next year during summer after I transfer to UC and then transfer the units?

^
Yes you can. [: I’m doing that next summer, lol.

Good luck!

anyone? Thanks!

If you got accepted to UCI, then you have nothing to worry about till you get there
