Is the amount of financial aid awarded any greater if a student transfers with an A.S. degree usually for 4 year schools? Thank you!

Are you asking if financial aid for a student who has a AS is more?

You need to check the schools to which you plan to transfer. Some have specific merit awards for students who are CC college transfers. Some offer limited financial aid to transfer student regardless of where they are transferring from. Some offer no financial aid to transfers.

You also want to check the school policies on awarding institutional need based aid to transfer students…again some offer limited, some offer none, some offer the same as for other students.

I personally have NEVER heard of a college where a student with an associates degree would get more aid simply based on their having an associates degree.

No, FA will not be higher for a student because they have an associate’s degree. Need based federal FA is limited and is based on your financial need. Institutional need based aid would depend on the school’s own policies. Merit aid may be available for student’s transferring with an associates, but unfortunately merit aid for transfers is usually less generous than that available for freshmen. (for instance at my daughter’s school the highest merit award for a transfer is a partial tuition waiver of $2500, a fraction of the highest merit award for high stat freshmen).
