I was wondering if by taking a bunch of AP’s, you can graduate high school with your associate’s degree. If you get 5’s and 4’s of course.
Dual Enrollment courses in my school count a tad bit less towards your GPA compared to AP’s, yet some kids I know are already getting their associate’s degree done when they graduate due to credit from DE courses. Can AP’s make that possible?
Yes! I’m a current sophomore with about 4 AP classes already. Our school district and local community college allow students to enroll at the college to earn diplomas, certificates and associate degrees (dual enrollment). A 15 yo kid at another H.S. near me just graduated with his Associates in Science (transfer) before graduating high school. In the interview he said he did it by taking the allowed number of college classes during the school year and summer and also with his AP credit. The community college accepted anything that was a 3 or above for certain courses. In some courses, if you had a 4 or 5, you earned more credits. He finished sooner because he had APs and college credit combined. As a matter of fact, he even did CLEP for one course. I’m planning on following his lead to get my associates before starting a 4 year university…Good luck!
