<p>i don’t really know to what extent astrology is believed or followed. my sense is it’s mostly just used to relate to other people with. 12 animal symbols, one for each month, different meanings, superficial depth, what’s not to like?</p>
<p>honestly when i was 10 i took pride in being born in the ‘monkey’ year and not the ‘rooster’ year because i thought the monkey description was nicer, which it was. maybe some of the appeal of astrology can be attributed to people learning about it when they are young and impressionable. </p>

<p>i don’t really think astrology competes with science too much. it’s not one or the other or anything. so maybe that point should have been made.</p>
