Astronomy at GT

I have been considering Astronomy as a major at GT. How does the program compare with other colleges? If there is anything else you know about Astronomy, feel free to share. Thanks!

I don’t think GT offers a major in astronomy. The astronomy/astrophysics areas are still new and growing. They do, however, offer a certificate in astrophysics. You may want to check out [Georgia Tech: Center for Relativistic Astrophysics](http://cra.gatech.edu/) and [Astronomy @ Georgia Tech](http://astronomy.gatech.edu/) for more info. You could also look at the GA Tech School of Physics website to learn more about offered majors/minors/certificates.

On a side note, GT does have an observatory with a 16’’ scope that is open to the public usually once every month. There’s also an astronomy club.
