<p>Hello,
Going to stony brook most likely (99.9%) sure, and I was wondering what the astronomy and physics program is like. I'm really interested in this school, loved it first time i saw it, so i want to know if im going to get a good education there.
And just as a question, why does SB get such a bad rep, ive had a lot of friends go there and say its great, my brother played rugby agasnt them too and he said it was a great place. (he went to southern connecticut, same deal, bad rep, but he loved it)</p>

<p>The “bad reputation” on this forum stems from a select group of individuals only. The only way to make an accurate judgment is to visit the campus yourself.</p>

<p>Although I’m not fully acquainted with the Phy/Ast program at Stony Brook, a few friends who graduated from it and related areas enjoyed it greatly. Stony has the plus of having well renowned faculty in the field who are able to utilize both University and DOE (Brookhaven) resources.</p>
