Astrophysics B.S. major?

In about a year from now I will be majoring in astrophysics at UC Santa Cruz. Can anyone tell me what to expect for this major either at Santa Cruz, or any university? Is the class load heavy? How much time did you spend on your class work? Did you intern anywhere? How many classes did you take a quarter? Is there any books or textbooks I can be looking at to prepare?

How much math and physics have you completed? An astrophysics degree is basically a physics degree with a few electives, so advance preparation of the math and physics is likely to be the most beneficial. Brush up on your calculus if you’ve had some already.

You can browse college websites and there is always the requirements for the major listed. There is often a sample 4 year schedule which is very helpful.

Thank you both :)! @comfortablycurt @BrownParent
