Astrophysics program

Just one question about fsu’s physics program. I have heard great things but does anyone know about the astrophysics major specifically? ideally id like to do astronomy but i know FSU doesnt offer it. I was just wondering if anyone could offer insight on what the program is like/if they think its worth it for someone who aims to go into astronomy specifically. think FSU would be a great fit im just not sure about the major. Any comments welcomed

We visited there this summer and spoke with Dr. Blessing who is a physics undergraduate adviser and then we met with Dr.Huffenberger who is specific to astrophysics. It is a booming time for FSU and in the past year they have brought in 5 new faculty. Astro is a strong major at FSU but it is also tough and you should have a strong background in math, physics and chemistry as your base subjects. FSU does offer a neat “exploring physics” freshman course that can also help you to decide as it covers the main areas of physics research.
