Wait listed. My family and I are absolutely shocked. I have a sister who graduated from Barrett 2 years ago and was extremely involved. I don’t understand. Aside from my GPA, it really makes no sense whatsoever.

My profile for anyone interested:

Stats??? Are you in state? When did you check? Was it online?

It was a letter in the mail that I received today. Go ahead and click on that link if you want to know more about me.

Wow, that’s pretty shocking…

What is your total ACT score, I couldn’t really tell.

It also looks like you are a great leader outside of the classroom. How were your essays and LORs?

does your sister attend barrett?

32 English, 27 Math, 29 Reading, 26 Science (I know, I know)

Highest was a 27 in one sitting but if you were to take the time and recalculate my highest subscores (like plenty of top schools do), it would equal 29.

My LORs were pretty good. English teacher and Counsellor.

As mentioned before, she graduated about 2 years ago.

Not to make any excuses, but their application is honestly pathetic. I hated filling it out. I really think my end result would be MUCH different if they accepted Common App. I wasn’t too happy with my application to begin with although I did write a great essay.

Oh and another thing: I attend a prep school in Scottsdale that they absolutely love to recruit from. I thought this would also make up for my difference in GPA and test scores but nope. I guess one could expect to get wait listed when you’re relying more on your EC’s and background than you are on test scores. I’m just hoping other schools take the time to take a look at my application more carefully. Seeing as Common App provides a much bigger picture of who a student really is, I’m a little more optimistic when it comes to the rest of my applications.

I’m really sorry to hear that Carotid, don’t get too down on yourself though. Keep your head high, and know that you can be successful anywhere you go.

I still haven’t received a letter, but I’ll make sure to report back tomorrow with my decision and stats for anyone who’s curious.

Hey Matt, can you PM me your stats? Ill do the same. I am freaking out a little lol.

Carotid, keep your head up, you’ll be successful regardless where you go.

Remember even if you don’t get in initially, you can apply to Barrett for the second semester of your freshman year as a first semester freshman.

Well, its 12 am and its not up… Im going to bed.

4:30 here by the west coast and still no decision. Time for some more sleep!

They’re up, I just got admitted!

S got in! He’s so excited!

Mine says decision rendered, but nothing happens when I click view letter.

^ you probably have pop-up blocker on.

teenbodybuilder, you were correct… and I am accepted!!

Just curious matt, what are your stats?

Carotid…makes no sense they would give you 25K and not let you into Barrett

I got in to Barrett’s!!! Now I have to decide if I should do it or just regular ASU…

Admitted.

Can’t wait! Super excited!
