ASU Admissions Fall 2014

Do any of you mind sharing your stats? I’m hoping to apply there in a couple years!

28 ACT, 3.98 unweighted 4.43 weighted, president of a couple clubs, NHS, NAHS, Key Club, ASU resident, leader of my church youth, only 2 AP but almost all honors, fairly decent essay and 3 recommendation letters.

So when do we say yes or no to acceptance, like what is our deadline

When you pay the enrollment deposit that is counted as acceptance. You need to do that by May 1st.

Hi, i am an international student
… 1750 SAT…100 TOEFL… always in top 5% of the class… what are the chances? I applied for engineering in december and they havent processed my transcripts… its getting late …
Worried :(

BHhazy: Don’t worry ASU has been on break until yesterday and thus everything is on hold until they catch up and process all the apps, most colleges won’t have that done until the end of this week. Often colleges take longer than a month to fully get back uptodate and ASU processing as many apps as they do (more than most colleges) will be there soon. All apps are processed and decisions are made on a rolling application basis, with your stats and TOEFL you will be accepted. No worries

@englishman … they processed my transcripts on 15th !

How long does it take to hear from asu? A month or less?

About a month, since you are international I am not sure if they take a littler longer. But with those stats, you are good to go! Don’t worry!

Thanks J 10char

ASUBound, class of 2018!

ACCEPTED just last week :))

My daughter is out of state (CA), has not heard one peep from admissions.
3.7 GPA, average SAT/ACT, nutrition major. what gives?

Rofl wait listed by Barrett but accepted by a top 10 LAC.

Yeah cya ASU :-h

@Carotid, congratulations on your admission to top LAC. Did you submit your Barrett’s application within the priority deadline? Sometimes admission decisions seem to defy logic. It could be that they have reached their magic admission number already, and they have plenty of likely candidates with similar profiles to yours, who knows!

Yeah if you just heard back then you didn’t apply priority. Most of the class is priority applicants like myself.

That would be why. Regular decision spots usually require really high stats. 'Grats on CMC though!

@teenbodybuilder

Let’s look past my trend from a 3.2 to a 3.96 and my 5 top leadership positions along with my status as Hispanic/first gen. Barrett is ridiculous. And yes I applied priority.

Meh don’t care anymore at this point. ASU was the last place I wanted to be so everything worked out in the end.

Yeah if you applied PA then the whole package is really considered. Just saying that with RD there tends to be a stricter standard for test scores/cumGPA due to the available spots remaining.

Did you half-ass the essay knowing you didn’t want to be at ASU? First gen + urm might not have nearly as much weight at Barrett as an LAC, idk, but Barrett does have a lot of diversity. Might also be worth noting that Barrett is 80% in state and 20% oos. I’d assume that those oos seats are more competitive, unless there just isn’t many oos applicants. They don’t post broken down acceptance rates so we’ll never know.

I’m pretty surprised you didn’t get outright accepted. We have similar upward trend and ECs (varsity sports, club leadership, work). You didn’t get denied either, though; you could still get in. You got into a nice school and I’m happy for you brah! I bet they’ll give you a great FA pkg.

@carotid

@Carotid, Congrats on CMC, you know you have been accepted to one of the most selective LAC’s in the country, but why you would even apply to ASU with your stats is beyond me, Claremont McKenna vs ASU…No contest!

My sons HS here in Phx, has had 100 grads in the class of 2014 accepted to Barrett, my advise stay away!

Alright I’m going to clear up the confusion. I am in state from Arizona. I applied to ASU as a safety and Barrett via priority. That was back in November. I then sent my application for CMC ED 2 January 1st. I heard back from Barrett with their decision to wait list me in mid-January and CMC’s decision to admit me in mid-February.

Thanks for the congratulations and best of luck at Barrett/ASU.
