I was thinking about applying to ASU and decided to fill out an application. However after I had finished and reached the submit stage, I realized that it never asked about anything academically, be it grades or any standardized tests. I figured that they would probably want to know, so how would they be able to know if i didn’t tell them in the application?
If you look in the “requirements” list, you’ll see where you need your HS to send in your transcript and school report. And any tests (SAT, ACT) score reports will need to be requested by you (or when you apply for the test, you get four free destinations. Just add ASU to the list and you don’t need to pay extra). This is for every college you apply.
They will get transcript directly from the HS. You need to relay to your HS the colleges you apply to. I don’t think any college asks applicants to self-report courses and grades. And you have to send your standardized test results to every school you apply to. There are likely other required documents such as teacher and guidance counselor recommendations.
@happy1: FYI: California State Universities (Cal States) and University of California (UC’s) application wants you to self report your HS course work. Transcripts are sent into the schools once you are accepted for verification of the self-reported classes. No transcript required until after you are admitted unless specifically requested by the school.
^^^ Good to know. That’s why I used “I think” instead of “I know for sure”.
Iowa and Iowa State also self-report. Admissions decisions are strictly formula based and come out within a week or two after the application is received.
